Lewis Schoeplein

Olympic Tower

PROJECT TYPE   Commercial
LOCATION  Los Angeles

Lewis|Schoeplein was asked to reimagine the Olympic Building, a medical office tower that encompasses a full city block on the west side of Los Angeles, an area that is seeing unprecedented growth with the introduction of Metro’s Exposition Line. The original tower, constructed in the 1980s, is transformed by retaining the existing structural systems, but re-skinning the building to create ground-level interest for pedestrians and car traffic, as well as opportunities to highlight commercial tenants. Considerations for the project include energy efficiency, constructability, and longevity.

Additional work includes the redesign of interior courtyards and gathering spaces, intended to further enhance the daily experience of building occupants and visitors.
